Korean used cars are extremely popular in Central Asia and the process is simpler than most people expect.

**1. Deregistration.** The seller (or exporter) files an export deregistration at the vehicle registration office. You receive an export certificate that replaces the registration.

**2. Customs.** An export declaration is filed through the Korea Customs Service. A licensed forwarder does this for 150,000 to 250,000 won.

**3. Shipping.** From Incheon or Busan, cars go either in a container (safer, around 1,500 USD to Tashkent via China rail plus truck) or roll-on roll-off to Vladivostok and onward by rail (cheaper, slower).

**4. Import side.** Uzbekistan charges customs duty and excise based on engine size and age. Cars under three years old are the cheapest to bring in; older than seven years is expensive enough that most people skip it.

**5. Paperwork to keep.** Export certificate, invoice, bill of lading, and the Korean inspection report. Buyers in Tashkent pay a premium for cars with a documented Korean history.
