A dashcam is close to mandatory in Korea; insurers give a discount and the footage settles most minor accidents in minutes.

**Two channels, not one.** Front-only cameras miss the most common claims: rear-end shunts and parking-lot dents. A front and rear set from a Korean brand costs 200,000 to 300,000 won installed.

**Parking mode drains batteries.** If your car sits for days, either buy a small auxiliary battery pack or set the low-voltage cut-off to 12.2 volts. Every second complaint on this board about a dead battery ends with "I had parking mode on".

**Resolution is not everything.** A 1080p camera with a good sensor reads plates at night better than a cheap 4K unit. Look at night sample footage before you buy.

**Memory cards die.** They are consumables. Format the card once a month and replace it once a year, or one day you will discover the camera stopped recording six months ago.

Cheap Korean brands from the big electronics stores are perfectly good. Spend the difference on a proper hard-wire installation.
