Both cars are now two years into the used market, so we pulled the numbers from listings on Solven and the big auction houses.

**EV9.** Launched at 73 to 82 million won, a 2024 Earth trim with 30,000 km now lists around 52 million. That is roughly 35 percent depreciation, better than most large SUVs.

**Ioniq 9.** Arrived later and pricier, and early cars are holding a bit tighter at around 30 percent, partly because there are fewer of them. Expect that gap to close as fleet cars come back.

**What buyers should check.** Both use the same 800-volt platform. Confirm that the 12-volt battery has been replaced if the car sat unsold for long, and check for the ICCU recall stamp in the service book. Heat pump equipped trims are worth the premium if you live north of Daejeon.

**Verdict.** If you need seven seats and mainly drive in the city, the EV9 is the value pick. The Ioniq 9 rides better and has the nicer interior, and its residuals justify the extra upfront cost for long-term owners.
